The Process & Fine PrintStep 1 -- Getting Started

Step 2 -- The Agreement & Questionnaire
The Agreement. After we settle on the details, I'll create a basic letter of agreement that says what I'll do for you at the fee we established. You can sign it and send it to me (by mail, fax or via e-mail as a .pdf attachment) with your deposit. -- An up-front deposit of up to 50% the total project cost is required from all new clients and for jobs over $1,000.
Interview/Questionnaire: You may also receive a short questionnaire about your project, which you should also return. Your answers to these questions will help me better understand your goals and thoughts about the piece I’ll be creating and help ensure that we’re all on the same page.
Step 3 -- The Writing & RevisingYou will receive a First Draft by our agreed deadline. At that point, you will review it and return it to me for revisions. You'll then receive the Second Draft, and have the option to review and request one more set of revisions. -- All fees quoted include two rounds of revisions. Any additional revisions will be charged at my hourly rate.
Step 4 -- The "No Surprises!" Invoice
The total project cost we agree upon is what you can expect to pay – and that includes all the little expenses incurred during the project. But I want to make sure that the Agreement you receive at the beginning is a "No Surprises!" experience as well, so you should also know that: --If a deadline is changed after the project starts to within 48 business hours, I reserve the right to charge an additional "rush fee" of at least 25% of total project cost for the job. (Of course, if the initial deadline is within 48 business hours, this will already be incorporated into the total project cost.) -- And If the project is killed for any reason during the copywriting stage, full payment of all hours invested up to that point is still required. If the project is killed after delivery of the first draft, full payment of the agreed-upon fee is required.
