Meet the Founder

Tracy Needham launched her business in 2003 after more than a decade in marketing communications—the majority of which was spent in the financial services industry. Her last job in the corporate world was creating and managing the competitive affairs function at a mutual fund company in Bethesda, MD.

Writing and editing seem to be in her blood. In sixth grade, she won a local writing competition with a semi-biographical short story. Her first published article was originally written as a graduate school assignment. Entitled  From Graduation to a Job on Capitol Hill,” it was published by Cosmopolitan magazine in 1995. Tracy is also a co-author of an anthology entitled Conscious Entrepreneurs which will be published in Spring 2008.

She received an M.S. in Public Relations from Boston University College of Communication in 2003 and a B.A. in International Relations from the College of William & Mary in Virginia in 1991. And in 2005, Tracy graduated from Coach University's Coach Training Program.

She currently serves on the board of Greater Raleigh Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners as Communications Committee Chair. Other memberships include the North Carolina Sustainability Council, Coop American Business Network, International Association of Business Communicators, American Marketing Association, Triangle Business Leaders, and National Trust for Historic Preservation. She has also been listed in both Who's Who in American Women and Who's Who of Emerging Leaders.

Tracy lives in Raleigh, North Carolina and desperately wishes the Dog Whisperer Cesar Milan would come visit her and her two rescue mutts, who seem confused about her pack-leader status. She also believes trying new things keeps you young, which is how she’s ended up dancing with members of the cast from Chicago, on a flying trapeze, and going door-to-door in the cold New Hampshire winter for a presidential campaign.
